چکیده

This paper presents a K-band Gilbert mixer in a 0.18μm CMOS technology by means of a π-Network and Post Distortion Cancellation (PDC) technique to achieve high gain, high linearity, and moderate noise figure. We use the parasitic capacitances that appear at nodes between RF and LO stage for implementing π-Network. Circuit analysis and MATLAB simulation show that the above technique is useful for wide-band applications. Simulation illustrates a power consumption of 9.68mW at 1.8V, 3.36 dB improvement in power conversion gain, and 2 dB reduction in NF at 21.5GHz with LO power of −1 dBm in comparison with the case when PDC technique is used only. Compared to conventional mixer, it improves the IIP3 by 6 dB.

Design of a high gain and highly linear common-gate UWB mixer in K-band

In this paper, in order to design a K-band commongate Gilbert-cell mixer via a 0.18 lm CMOS technology, thepNetwork and post-distortion cancellation (PDC) techniques are implemented simultaneously, resulting in the improvement of gain, bandwidth, noise figure and linearity. Also, a new method for implementing the p-Network, using the parasitic capacitances between RF and LO stage nodes, is prop...

Design and Analysis of UWB Down-Conversion Mixer with Linearization Techniques

Frequency translation which converts the original signal to a much lower baseband frequency signal is a vital role in the RF receiver design. In this work, a high linear down-conversion Gilbert cell mixer at 100MHz is designed using TSMC 0.18μm RF CMOS process. Linearity is an important performance measure in RF circuits particularly in mixer design. In this paper, the two types of linearizatio...

Design of a Low Power Compensated 90nm RF Multiplier with Improved Isolation Characteristics for a Transmitted Reference Receiver Front End

In this paper, a double balanced radio frequency multiplier is presented which is customized for transmitted reference ultra wideband (UWB) receivers. The multiplier uses 90nm model parameters and exploits compensating transistors to provide controllable gain for a Gilbert core. After performing periodic and quasiperiodic non linear analyses the RF mixer (multiplier) achieves a voltage conversi...
